By train

The official site recommends the TGV from Paris Montparnasse (or Roissy airport) to Tours Saint-Pierre-des-Corps, about 1 hour, then the TER from Tours to Chenonceaux, 25 minutes. The station is 400 m from the ticket office. The frequency of the TER is not stated on the official site and some trains do not stop all year, so check SNCF Connect.

By car

The official site says about 2 hours from Paris by the A10, leaving at the Blois or Amboise exit. Our estimates, without traffic: Amboise 20 km and 26 minutes, Tours 36 km and 44 minutes, Blois 44 km and 55 minutes, Chambord 58 km and 72 minutes, Paris 247 km and 179 minutes.

The château has large car parks, areas for campervans, bicycles and motorbikes, and a large coach park. The services page lists free lockers and three free Tesla chargers. Tiqets lists parking as included in its entry ticket.

From Amboise

Amboise is about 20 km away, 26 minutes by car (our estimate), which makes Chenonceau an easy half-day from Amboise. Read our guide to doing the Loire castles without a car for the public transport options.
